"Wood Abstract" w/easel
This abstract assemblage of wood pieces is a 9" x 12" sculpture-like piece stained and painted in oil on canvas board. Each of the many pieces were painstaking glued and pushed into place using a mouth-stick (an adapted stick) and painted by mouth by artist Mariam Paré. Wood easel included.
DetailsMariam has a love for many art mediums and sometimes ventures outside her traditional training as a painter to create pieces like this one in wood. Though more physically challenging than mouth-painting alone, she uses a mouth-stick and the little use of her left hand to assemble the pieces that are pre-cut for her by an assistant. The result being a painterly sculpture in wood. This piece took over three weeks to create.
