Paintings Inspired by my Injury - Group Show

Art shapes our ideas of who we are as individuals and influences who we are as members of society. Unbroken includes voices of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and celebrates their contributions, talent, creativity and personal stories. BACKBONES has featured me and 3 other artists in this exhibit. All of us paralyzed due to SCI, who have blurred lines between what ability means. We have pushed down borders placed around us by society by honing our skills regardless of physical limitation and becoming talented artists. This visual storytelling will hopefully shed a glimpse of accomplishments, pain, happiness, loss, and love of a few individuals after spinal cord injury and paralysis. The goal is to create a space that will encourage dialogue and learning in addition to empowering the artists through their work.
