I got some great press for the UNBROKEN: Art After Injury show at the Next Door Gallery in Lincoln Park which opened last weekend! Unfortunately, I missed the reception Friday night due to lack of transportation - which was so unfortunate my ride fell through at the last moment, I was so sad - but it was a success never-the-less. All the art from the other participating artists was so fantastic. It was a powerful exhibit for many reasons, and I was grateful to be a part of it. Below are some links to some of the press.

I am excited to tell everyone tthere are great things coming in the near future to keep an eye out for! I am working on some extremely personally meaningful work; a collection of aligorical paintings, as well as a collaboration on an exciting new photo project, some short film projects, and I am planing some exhibitions for the end of the year. Thanks for stopping by my blog! YOU are aersome. XO

Art shapes our ideas of who we are as individuals and influences who we are as members of society. Unbroken includes voices of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and celebrates their contributions, talent, creativity and personal stories. BACKBONES has featured me and 3 other artists in this exhibit. All of us paralyzed due to SCI, who have blurred lines between what ability means. We have pushed down borders placed around us by society by honing our skills regardless of physical limitation and becoming talented artists. This visual storytelling will hopefully shed a glimpse of accomplishments, pain, happiness, loss, and love of a few individuals after spinal cord injury and paralysis. The goal is to create a space that will encourage dialogue and learning in addition to empowering the artists through their work.
